Before you cancel
One subscription, every document
As long as your subscription stays active, you can create an unlimited number of legal documents — across every country available on Captain.Legal. Contracts, leases, bylaws, certificates, letters: as many as you like, personalised and downloadable in PDF and Word, without ever paying per document.
How to cancel
Captain.Legal subscriptions — a 7-day free trial, then a monthly charge — are billed through a recurring PayPal billing agreement. You can therefore cancel directly from your PayPal account, at any time, free of charge and without giving a reason. As long as you cancel before the 7-day trial ends, you will not be charged.
From a computer
- 1Log in to your account at paypal.com.
- 2Click the ⚙️ Settings icon in the top-right corner.
- 3Open the “Payments” tab, then “Manage automatic payments”.
- 4In the list of merchants, select “Captain Legal” (sometimes “Captain Legal LLC”).
- 5Click “Cancel”, then confirm.
From the mobile app
- 1Open the PayPal app and log in.
- 2Tap your profile photo, then “Settings”.
- 3Select “Automatic payments”.
- 4Choose “Captain Legal”, then “Cancel subscription” and confirm.
After cancellation
- ✓Future payments are stopped: you will no longer be charged.
- ✓You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for; the current period is not refunded on a pro-rata basis.
- ✓You can subscribe again at any time from the website.
