Terms and Conditions

These terms form the contract governing access to Captain.Legal and the purchase of digital documents by consumers and businesses in Hong Kong. By confirming an order, you accept the version of these terms in force at the time of purchase.

Captain.Legal creates a document from your answers to a questionnaire and delivers a personalised template in PDF and, where provided, in Word. The templates do not replace advice from a solicitor or an individual review of your situation.

You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for checking names, dates, amounts and other details before generating the document, and for having a lawful basis to provide any third-party information.

Prices for Hong Kong are displayed in Hong Kong dollars (HK$). Any applicable charges are shown before payment. Payment is processed by PayPal or Stripe. Captain.Legal does not store your full card or bank account details.

Once payment is confirmed, the document is made available on a secure page and through a link sent by email. You should download and review your files within the period indicated. Under the Electronic Transactions Ordinance (Cap. 553), the documents and records exchanged through the service are provided in electronic form; electronic records are not denied legal effect solely because they are electronic, subject to the exclusions set out in that Ordinance.

The subscription includes a seven-day free trial and then renews monthly at the price shown at checkout. It can be cancelled at any time from your customer account or from PayPal. Cancellation stops future charges and access continues until the end of the period already paid.

If a file is not generated or cannot be downloaded, contact us so that we can regenerate it or assess any applicable refund. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including the terms implied by the Sale of Goods Ordinance (Cap. 26) where it applies, and any limitation of liability is subject to the reasonableness requirements of the Control of Exemption Clauses Ordinance (Cap. 71).

The site, the questionnaires and the structure of the templates are protected. The purchaser may use and edit the purchased document for their own needs, but may not resell the template or reproduce the service.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to the courts of Hong Kong, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection you may rely on.
